THE Jersey JFA Capita Centre of Excellence squad continued their glistening form in France yesterday, beating Bulgarian team Lokamotiv Sofia 2-0 in the Mondial Pupilles de Plomelin tournament.
Playing in Douarnenez, Brittany, John Tardivel put the Jersey under-13s into the lead before Norman Carrol made it 2-0.
The Centre’s assistant director Simon Moiani said: ‘They played well.
There were a few tired legs after yesterday’s matches so we asked the team to play as disciplined as they had done the previous day and they went out and did that.
They are all confident now and so we have to keep reminding them to take each day as it comes but so far we are really pleased with how it’s gone.’ The team, who have now won three and drawn one of their five matches to date, face Brazil’s Lideranca and French teams E A Guingamp and Quimper later on today.
Squad: Nick Carpenter, Norman Carrol, Sam Crabtree, Ryan Le Couteur, Marc McCain, Jamie Mourant, Charlie Petulla, Matthew Rondel, Richard Streets, John Tardivel, Callum Tingley, Calvin Weir, Marco Zocchi, Calvin Haycock, Jack Hinton, William Humphrey.
