News from the Jersey Evening Post

Game for a laugh

GRAEME Le Saux is no stranger to playing in semi-finals, but tonight he’s in one which doesn’t involve kicking a football.

Former England player Graeme will be a contestant in the penultimate episode of ‘Gameshow Marathon’, a prime-time TV show which each week sees celebrities taking part in a reconstruction of a classic gameshow. After winning the first episode - ‘The Price Is Right’ - on 7 April, he went through to last week’s quarter-final where his wife Mariana joined him to battle it out successfully in the ‘Mr and Mrs’ leg. This weekend he will face Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell and the ‘Sunday Edition’ presenter Andrea Catherwood in ‘Bulls-eye’. If he is successful again, he will go on to compete in the following week’s ‘Play Your Cards Right’ final. Jersey is doing well in the celebrity television stakes at the moment - Graeme’s success follows on the heels of Kyran Bracken’s victory in ‘Dancing on Ice’.Graeme won ‘Celebrity Mastermind’, was highly commended in ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ and has also appeared on ‘The Weakest Link’. He said that he grew up with TV gameshows so is delighted to be taking part in the series. ‘Anyone of my generation who watched a lot of TV, as we all did, knew the game-show format very well. The fact that they’ve put together a programme which gives people the chance to see all of these classic shows again is great. It is such a lot of fun.’
