Gutted: Michelle sees her X Factor chance get lost in the fog

ISLANDER Michelle Taylor was convinced that nothing would stop her auditioning for this year’s X Factor - but she didn’t count on the fog holding her back.

The weather on Thursday meant that the majority of flights were cancelled, including Michelle’s morning flight to Manchester. Flybe offered her a seat on the later flight that evening, which got cancelled too. Michelle then declined a seat on yesterday’s flight to Manchester as well as Gatwick and Southampton - all of which never took off. It all meant that Michelle missed her audition spot, and she has written to Thames TV to see if she might have another shot at stardom. ‘I’ve explained the situation with the fog and hope they will arrange another audition time,’ she said. Michelle said that the new layout of the Airport didn’t help matters. ‘I felt trapped,’ she said. ‘You can’t get outside or find out if your plane had landed.’ After missing the deadline for last year’s competition, Michelle was sure that there would be no hiccups this time. ‘My audition was on Friday, but I purposely chose to fly on Thursday so that I could have the whole day to get there,’ she said.
