School choir to sing in world-class charity line-up

THE Beaulieu Chamber choir will sing with Korean violinist So-Ock Kim and the National Symphony Orchestra when they perform in Jersey next month.

Friday Night is Music Night will be held at Fort Regent on Friday 8 June in aid of Jersey Side by Side. The choir, directed by music teacher Elizabeth Farnon, are used to performing at prestigious events but this invitation has struck a chord for the girls. ‘It’s a privilege to be asked to share the stage with a world-renowned violinist and be accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra,’ said Mrs Farnon. ‘We’ve been at prestigious competitions before but to sing with a well-known British orchestra is something very special. You don’t get these opportunities often.’ Last year the choir reached the final of the National Music for Youth Festival in Birmingham.
