THE number of victims in the inquiry into child abuse at Haut de la Garenne and other organisations could now be as many as 160.
Police say that many more people came forward following the discovery of human remains at the home on Saturday and the discovery of a hidden, bricked-up cellar.
The police have also received many more calls offering information about the home and those who lived and worked there, including from people providing old maps, plans and photographs of the building.
Deputy police chief Lenny Harper
said that many victims had not come forward before because they did not think that their complaints would be taken seriously.
