THE streets of town will be transformed into an outdoor art gallery this summer, with high-resolution reproductions of masterpieces from Jersey’s national art collection exhibited for the public to enjoy.
The al fresco exhibition will run for four months from 28 May to 28 September. During that time, 12 full-size copies of some of the Island’s most famous paintings will be on display outside venues such as the Central Market, BHS and the Post Office in Broad Street.
These will include A Jersey Lily, by Sir John Everett Millais, and Blue Square, by Richard Allen. There will also be a copy of The Death of Major Peirson, by John Singleton Copley, in the exhibition, by permission of the Tate in London.
The Sure Street Gallery is a partnership between Jersey Heritage and Cable & Wireless International.
