News from the Jersey Evening Post

All the pieces come together - at last!

A PIECE of Jersey community artwork from the Millennium is being displayed in full for the first time.

Over 20,000 Islanders contributed to the Millennium Mosaic project organised by the Jersey Heritage Trust and the Jersey Evening Post, either by donating ideas and drawings or actually laying the tiles and it is now on show for two weeks at the Sir Francis Cook Gallery in Trinity.

Wayne Audrain, head of design at Jersey Heritage, said that it was impressive to finally see the 20-metre mosaic in its entirety. ‘It has been stored at the Jersey Museum for the last few years,’ he said. ‘Because it is so large, we haven’t been able to find a permanent space but we are hoping that displaying it for the next few weeks might help us find somewhere for it to go.’

The Millennium Mosaic will be displayed at the Sir Francis Cook Gallery, Trinity Hill, until 14 May.
