Only 1,000 tickets left for lottery

THERE are only 1,000 tickets left for the Jersey Hospice Million Pound Lottery after 5,000 were snapped up in the first week.

Hundreds of people queued along Broad Street to buy the £300 tickets when the lottery was launched last Thursday and organisers say that if all 6,000 tickets are sold, it will have raised ฃ500,000 for Jersey Hospice Care.

Fund-raising manager Katrina Bell said there had been a real ‘buzz’ surrounding the event.

‘Everywhere I go I hear people talking about it,’ she said. ‘It is fantastic that we have sold tickets twice as fast this year and generated so much money for Hospice. I think people were out queuing on the first day because they thought that we would sell out instantly.’
