A FORMER interior designer is hoping to attract customers to her new venture selling traditional cream teas in the village of St Martin.
Jane Gilley (49) opened the doors to the Village Tea Room last month and hopes that the venue will not only become a successful tea shop but also a focal point for the community.
The inspiration for the tea rooms came from an Austrian-themed venue in Bournemouth that Mrs Gilley used to go to with her friends in the 1980s.
Mrs Gilley, who also did the book-keeping for her husband’s business Trinity Kitchens before branching out with her latest venture, said that she had been looking around for an ideal place for a tea shop when she discovered the St Martin venue.
