New chief officer at Planning

A NEW chief officer for Planning and Environment has been appointed.

Andrew Scate (36) replaces former chief executive Paul Nicols, who resigned in January this year after 18 months in the post.

He was replaced by acting chief officer Richard Jouault, who will return to Health when Mr Scate arrives on 26 August.

Mr Scate, who will become the youngest chief officer in the States, is currently head of planning, sustainability and transportation at Southampton City Council.
