Football: Hudson leads U16s to victory

JERSEY won the under-16 Muratti at Springfield 3-0 on Saturday thanks to clinical finishing by their captain, and man of the match James Hudson.

His two first-half goals and a second-half stunner by winger Aaron Young from 25 yards out, emphasised the difference between the two teams who, in last year’s under-15 Star Trophy, had drawn 3-3.

This year, however, there was only one winner because, on the day, Jersey were by far the better team.

Despite a bright start by Guernsey, who drew two saves from keeper Scott Simpson in the opening two minutes, from the tenth minute onwards Jersey were always in control.
