THE Channel Islands opened their Over 50s County Championship campaign with a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Cornwall at Grainville yesterday.
Guernseymen took the bowling honours as Cornwall were restricted to 126 for nine in their 45 overs, with Ralph Anthony leading the way with four wickets for 16 runs.
Jersey batsman provided the runs with Andy Gibbs undefeated on 59 and Dave Gorman likewise on 45, the only casualty being Paul Robson who scored 16 runs.
