Pandemic flu: £1.2m sought for medicine

00214237_cropped.jpgHEALTH are asking for an additional £1.2 million to make sure that the Island is ready for an outbreak of pandemic flu.

They want the cash so that they can stockpile more medical supplies that could save hundreds of lives in the event of a world-wide flu outbreak.

Health have said in the past that they believe a pandemic is a matter of when, and not if.

Senior Island health figures say that the disease is likely to arrive in Europe from the east in the next three to eight years.
