From Hugh Gill.
EXACTLY 12 months ago, a number of magnificent oak trees were cut down in St Peter’s Valley, apparently to provide sight lines for the entrance to the new estate at Goose Green Marsh.
The trees have gone, but the banque is still there and vehicles of all kinds have been entering and leaving the site quite safely for a year.
In the meantime another breeding season is under way, but the oaks are gone for ever.
Too late, we were told they should not have been cut down at that time of year. Does it not beg the question, why were they felled at all? Three Corners, Spring Grove,
St Lawrence.
These trees should never have been cut down
