POLICE have been accused of allowing the Home Affairs Minister to mislead the States about the piece of ‘bone’ found at Haut de la Garenne.
The find, which triggered a massive police inquiry and an international media frenzy focused on the Island, has now been claimed to be a shard of wood or coconut shell.
Deputy Sean Power said today that Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard gave misleading information about the police investigation when he asked the Senator a question in the States last month.
Deputy Power said: ‘The Home Affairs Minister and her assistant minister were clearly not party to up-to-date information from police and it is quite possible that the House was misled on the 29 April.’
