THE Watersplash and its staff have been fined a total of over £5,000 for serving alcohol to under-18s.
Two barmen failed to ask two minors for ID and another two juveniles were found drinking liquor on the premises on 25 November last year.
The Magistrate’s Court heard on Thursday that licensing officers were in the Watersplash on the night in question.
They caught two youths purchasing alcohol from the bar and another two drinking alcohol on the premises.
Officers recognised one teenager from a few hours earlier when they had caught him drinking a can of lager in Liberation Square.
One of the youths had a fake ID but later admitted to the officers that he was under-age.

Watersplash Bar Staff getting fined ???? Is the Watersplash not a night club for over 18’s and does it not have door staff that are supposed to check all id first ??? Why should any bar staff member in any nightclub have to worry about id when there should be no underage in there in first place if door staff had done their part ??
Seems a little unfair to me.
Well, it’s about time too! I’m 28 now, but was going to the Splash when I was 15!
