Jersey on a roll

00563440_cropped.jpgWHILE the three fancied nations, Afghanistan, America and Nepal, all won comfortably in the ICC World Cricket League, Division V, at the FB Fields yesterday, the Jersey juggernaut rolled on.

This time the Bahamas were the side attempting to stand in their path but thanks to 92 not out from man of the match Ryan Driver and 6-20 from Andy Dewhurst, nothing could stand in their way.

Apart from a defiant 27 by middle order batsman Mario Ford, as the Bahamas chased an impossible total of 206, made up largely of Driver’s huge score which included five sixes and five fours, plus a cameo innings by Matt Hague who scored a crafted 57, this game was all but over before the Bahamas’ Gregory Taylor and Wayne Patrick came out to bat.

With three wins out of three so far, the only thing that Jersey have lost is the toss (four times in all, including one game abandoned because of the weather) but even when they were put in on a drying field, they never looked in danger of losing.
