Why not give Plémont to the National Trust Mr Hemmings?

From Ian Pinniger.
I READ the article regarding the land at Plémont with great interest and am delighted that Senator Cohen has refused support for the scheme.

Interestingly, it is stated that the owner of the land (either directly or indirectly) is Trevor Hemmings, who is another of Jersey’s multi-millionaires. Mr Hemmings must enjoy a pretty good life and I would like to put it to him, through your paper, that perhaps he should give something back in exchange for his good life.

Perhaps rather than develop the land to make even more money he should gift the land to the National Trust. Jersey is becoming spoilt with over development and we are encroaching on more and more land to satisfy housing pressure. Thus to preserve this headland would be wonderful for the future generations of the Island.

So Mr Hemmings, will it really hurt you to gift this land to the National Trust? Remember, we all come into this life with nothing and leave with nothing. We should try to put something back for what we take out.
