Care group calls for public support

The Jersey Care Leavers Association, which is now meeting every week, formed after the Haut de la Garenne investigation which launched in February as part of a historical child abuse inquiry in Jersey.

Last night they were due to elect various members onto a committee to give it a stronger voice.
Natalie Hampson (38), a part-time community support nurse for Health and Social Services, is acting as secretary for the group.

‘There has been a lot of criticism lately over Haut de la Garenne. I would like the whole Island of Jersey to be 100 per cent behind the abuse victims. Victims would like to think they have everyone’s support,’ she said.
