Eighteen-year-old Jo takes over at art studio

00562703_cropped.jpgA FORMER Jersey student has been given her own art studio to manage just 12 months after finishing an apprenticeship.

Jo Syvret is just 18 years old, but has already established herself as a senior metal clay artist and now runs the Jersey Silver Studio at the Harbour Gallery in St Aubin on behalf of her boss, Glyn Mitchell.
Mr Mitchell runs Quick Silver at the Lion Park.

The 18-year-old former Haute Vallée and Highlands College pupil was recommended by her college tutor, Glyn Burton, to Mr Mitchell and subsequently joined Quick Silver as a Saturday girl.

She now runs Mr Mitchell’s studio in St Aubin. It sells custom-made jewellery and also has facilities to run basic jewellery-making courses for students. Miss Syvret said that she hoped the studio would become well known in the Island.
