A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in St Helier yesterday.
The victim was stabbed in the stomach during a disturbance outside the side entrance to the Royal Yacht Hotel in
Mulcaster Street.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the General Hospital. The 52-year-old was this morning in a stable condition in the intensive care unit.
Stanley Farnon (58), who is originally from Scotland, was arrested in a pub in St Helier a short time after the incident and was later charged with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon. He was kept in
custody overnight and was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court this morning.
Police are still seeking witnesses to the incident and are keen to hear from three woman in their early 20s who entered the Royal Yacht at the time of the incident.
