Warriors repel Invaders to move to the top of the table

DEERGLEN Warriors stormed to the top of Division I of the Cronus Microgen Basketball League with a 108-49 dismantling of Axle Invaders this week.

The first basket of the match was an exquisite three point shot by Warriors’ Gerardo Garcia, one of six scored by him in the match.

Defence was not high on the agenda for either teams allowing Greg Ruellan and Michael Pusz of Warriors, and Andy Hassan and Mark Le Cornu of Invaders to take advantage of poor marking.

Warriors extended their five point lead early in the second quarter, employing the fast break to great effect, with any rebounds being picked up by Richard Michel and Matt De Bourg.
