Haut de la Garenne ‘is not affecting tourism’

There has been no sign of a decline in people choosing to holiday in the Island, despite adverse publicity about the historical child abuse inquiry in the national and world-wide press.

This week, Jersey Tourism hosted a workshop for over 60 tour operators from all over the world to find out what Jersey had to offer.

They were all impressed with the Island’s hotels and attractions and were adamant that the child abuse scandal had not tainted Jersey’s image abroad.

Anthony Faiers from booking.com, a hotel reservations website, said that he had seen no evidence that the Haut de la Garenne findings had affected people’s interest in coming to Jersey.
