THE Island will be boosted in two sports by the arrival of South African rugby forward Hendry Rheeders from Coventry RFC.
Rheeders (32) has moved to the Island after having spent four seasons with the National League I side to combine playing with Jersey RFC, who recently won a place in London I, and to take a course to qualify as a PGA golf coach, while working as an assistant at the Royal Jersey Golf Club.
Rheeders, who made 75 appearances for Coventry, scoring 13 tries, is a former plus handicap golfer and has already made an impression over the Grouville links.
The towering back row/second row player is a quality acquisition for Jersey RFC having been made captain during his time at Coventry RFC where he also won a player of the year award.
