Large fleet to take the Challenge

sailing1_cropped.jpgMORE than 120 yachts will race from Guernsey to Jersey tomorrow for the Kleinwort Benson Yacht Challenge title.

The race is open to all yacht owners who are members of a National Associated Yacht Club, and culminates with an after-race party at the St Helier Yacht Club.

Teams will participate in either the International Racing Certificate system or the Kleinwort Benson handicap system, with trophies and prizes for the winners of each category.

The challenge leaves Little Russell in Guernsey at 8.30 am tomorrow and, given fair winds, the majority are expected to have crossed the finish line in St Helier by mid-afternoon. The annual Governors’ Cup event will be held in St Aubin’s Bay on Sunday.
