    Martin Sayers is wondering why only 2,000 of the 6,000 tickets were snapped up for the Rock in the Park event….maybe because its been ruined by the fact tickets were nearly £30.00 for an event that had always been a free and family friendly event thats why!!! it doesnt take a genius to work it out!!!!!!!!!!!

    You can buy a day pass for Jersey Live for practically the same price and the bands at Jersey Live are the real deal. That is why ticket sales were poor.

    I thought it was a great event and congratulate the organisers. Obviously it depends on your taste in music but ticket price was not unreasonable in this day and age. It could have been better promoted. I understand it was not advertised at all in Guernsey for example whereas Jersey Live was heavily promoted outside the Island.

    We are regular tourists to Jersey. Well done to Martin Sayers for organising the event. However, it was not promoted very well. It was not listed in the monthly brochures available to all tourists at the airport. We only became aware of the event through the banner by the Waterfront. The Grandparents Day was also not promoted to tourists and the banner was taken down the day before. Please support Martin to advertise widely for next year’s Rock in the Park. He deserves as much support as possible.

    I emailed the organisers about the rule stating no hoodies. The reply said no hooded clothing of any description was allowed. What a joke. I’m not a teenage chav, I’m over 30 years old and I wanted to bring a fleece for the evening but I would rather go to Jersey Live where such pathetic rules are not even on the organisers agenda.

    Maybe if Mr Sayers didn’t try to alienate his potential clientele with such blatant misconceptions, then he may have had a better turnout.

    And this event should have cost £10 at the most. It will be interesting to see if he learns his lesson in time for next year.
