Different strokes

0564751_cropped.jpgJERSEYMAN Paul Le Chevalier bids to retain and gain his fifth Jersey Strokeplay Championship title this weekend at La Moye Golf Club.

The Rosscot 72-hole championship has attracted a strong entry of 39 of the Island’s leading players and they begin their quest tomorrow afternoon at the picturesque St Brelade course.

The second 18 holes will be played on Friday afternoon before the final 36 holes on Saturday.

Le Chevalier has been in good form this summer having won the Jersey Amateur Matchplay championship before narrowly being defeated in the Channel Islands final in Guernsey. Play starts tomorrow and Friday at 2.30 pm.

Junior Sam Crenan will be looking to reproduce his form from the Island Matchplay final when he pushed Paul Le Chevalier hard for the title
