Step up, Miss Junior Battle…

00490170_cropped.jpgTHE role of Miss Junior Battle is back for a third year running and the search is now on to find her.

This year’s junior competition is open to girls aged between eight and 12. Entries will be whittled down to 20 finalists, who will compete for the role at Howard Davis Park on the afternoon of Sunday 20 July.

In just under six weeks’ time the winner will accompany Miss Battle, Holly Fraser, and Mr Battle, Christopher Biggins, at both the Battle Parade and the Moonlight Parade.

Miss Battle of Flowers chaperone and co-ordinator of the junior competition Jackie Donald said: ‘Since we reinstated Miss Junior Battle of Flowers in 2006 it has proved a very popular competition among the Island’s young girls. The winner gets the chance to be a princess for the day and play a major role in the day’s fun and festivities.’
