A NUMBER of changes are planned for the structure of the Island’s Catholic Church this year.
Father Kevin Hoiles from St Edmund Campion in Maidenhead has been appointed to the Jersey pastoral area with special responsibility for the west of the Island.
Meanwhile, Father Marcin Drabik, who is already working in Jersey, has been appointed as the priest responsible for the east of the Island.
Father Peter Glas will be leaving the Island to move to the Solent pastoral area, with responsibility for Gosport, while Monsignor Nicholas France will retain responsibility for the centre based in St Helier, with the help of a Portuguese priest.
Father Marcin has said that he is happy to accept the additional responsibility, while remaining prison chaplain and priest for the Polish community. He is hoping to move to live in the east of the Island and Father Kevin will live in the west at the Sacred Heart presbytery.
