JERSEY welcome the drivers and back up teams in the British Hill Climb Championship at Bouley Bay tomorrow.
Some of the greatest drivers in the country will be battling for championship points as rounds 18 and 19 take place. Rabey’s Commercial Vehicles are supporting the National event which has been staged at Trinity for 61 years.
Some of the purpose-built machines are faster accelerating and fitted with more technology than Formula One racing cars and they are capable of snaking their way up the hill at over 100 miles per hour looking to set sub 40-second times.
The main protagonists for the outright record and the Jersey Challenge Trophy currently occupy the top three positions in the 2008 championship. It was an historic moment last year when current record holder Trevor Willis won the first round for OMS Racing and also performed a giant killing act as he fended off the larger four-litre cars on his way to a time of 38.25 seconds in his 2.8 litre car.
