Bath tub challenge

0575124_cropped.jpgTHE Titanic sank, Superman took to the water and the Yellow Submarine floated at the Annual Bathtub Challenge at Havre des Pas swimming pool yesterday.

The event, which is in its fourth year, was organised by Alan Le Pavoux of Jersey Aquatic Rescue Club. It saw 14 entrants in home-made raft/bathtubs in heats going from the shore to the end of the pool and back again.

Entrants included the Gondoliers, the Titanic, the Multi-Coloured Restaurant and the (Un)Sinkable. The event was free to enter and free to watch, with a collection bucket passed around for the JARC.

‘It has been going on for four years now, but this is the first year we have run it,’ said Mr Le Pavoux. ‘Our club entered it last year and had lots of fun doing it so we took it on.’
