Mavericks extend lead

00576059_2_cropped.jpgLUTEA Mavericks increased their lead by two points to 28 points at the top of Division III in the NatWest Evening Cricket League last night.

The Mavericks came home by six wickets with two overs to spare against Durrell at FB3 while Centurions B and A teams both moved above previously second-placed NatWest who were beaten by six wickets by Sloggers.

Alan Morris was again in fine form for Mavericks after retiring on 51, having struck six boundaries and one six. Mavericks got off to the worst possible start, with left-hander James Dobney run out off the first ball.

Morris took the game by the scruff of the neck playing some brutal shots while Matt Senior supported him with a fine 40 before being trapped leg before wicket by Adam Sutton.
