Hallucinogenic plants ripped out of Parade

00576296_cropped.jpgPOTENTIALLY lethal hallucinogenic plants were ripped out of flower beds in Parade Gardens on Monday after youths tried to pull them up and eat them.

St Helier parish gardeners removed the datura plants, which have been in the Parade for 15 years, after the police told them that adults had been directing youngsters to try to eat them.

Parish municipal services director Tony Andrews (pictured) said that they received a call yesterday afternoon, and took the precautionary step of removing the plants immediately.

The datura plants were planted in the flowerbeds at the Kensington Place end of Parade Gardens by the parish, and have been used in the parks for around 15 years.

Destroying these plants is a BIG mistake. They should be distributed to the electorate around the time of polling and then we’ll believe our current government is actually a really good idea and we’ll keep voting them in. In fact, if we hallucinate enough, we won’t see that our next Chief Minister gets voted in despite polling the least number of votes!

I wonder which “adults” it was that directed them…the tramp alcoholics that seem to live on Parade Gardens perchance?

Now i know why it’s taken 15 years for the kids to find out what it can do!
The States have kept it secret like everything else as they wanted it for themselves!

The plant is a Brugmansia not Datura. The flower corollas of Datura are upright, whereas the Brugmansia’s hang down.
