Jordan-Higgins and Crenan stay on course for national tests

livia-jordan-higgins_2_cropped.jpgJERSEY golfers Olivia Jordan-Higgins and Sam Crenan are well placed on the leader boards in two National championships after their opening rounds yesterday.

Jordan-Higgins returned a level par 72 to place joint-ninth and three strokes behind joint leaders Holly Aitchison and Florentyna Parker in the English Strokeplay Championship being played at The Berkshire Golf Club in Berkshire.

Royal Jersey colleague Crenan, playing the under-18s Carris Trophy at Wallasey, recovered from two-over after three holes to return a one-under-par 71 to be four strokes behind Royal Liverpool GC leader Tom Boys who had six birdies in a five-under-par round.

Crenan, who was runner-up in the men’s Island matchplay championship this summer, will be looking to secure a place in the final two rounds of the tournament today as the top 40 and tied scores qualify for the last 36 holes.
