Gallichan looks for St Mary promotion

00322700_cropped.jpgST MARY Deputy Juliette Gallichan is looking for ‘promotion’ to the Constable’s job.

Deputy Gallichan wants to take over from sitting Constable Ken Le Brun when he retires this year after three terms in office.

And if elected she would be following in his footsteps – like him, she is a former parish secretary. Deputy Gallichan (46) is expected to stand against parish Centenier Terry Renouf in the election to become the next Constable of Jersey’s least-populated parish.

Mr Renouf (51) announced his intention to stand in April. Deputy Gallichan, who is the vice-chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee and the Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny panel, said the experience of five years as parish secretary told her that the Constable’s job was a bigger one than the Deputy’s.
