Georgia and Josh take overall and Derby wins

0557883_cropped.jpgJOSH BAUDAINS, astride Strawberry Fragola, and Georgia Stevenson, on Free Spirit, were the overall Derby sash winners in the 148 cm and 128 cm classes respectively at the BSJA Summer Derby.

The Derby was held over three days at the showground in St Lawrence and each competitor took part in three events with the points being awarded to the first six finishes in each class to have an overall winner. The senior winner was Polly Harwood, with 13 points, riding Snap Happy.

The speed classes were held on the Friday. In the 128 cm class Georgia Stevenson took first place on Free Spirit in a time of 46.64 seconds, with James Dufty on Master Bailey in second place with 48.31.

The 148 cm class is split into two groups with ponies on 0 to 40 points jumping over a smaller fence, while the other ponies compete over the higher fence.
