1,257 km on a bike – just for the Battle

00581404_cropped.jpgA COUPLE from Germany were so keen to watch today’s Battle of Flowers that they have spent the past two weeks cycling here especially.

Rosi and Herbert Müller, from St Helier’s twin town of Bad Wurzach, have never watched the parade before and they are really looking forward to seeing what it is all about.

The husband and wife set off from the town – which is near Germany’s borders with Switzerland and Austria – on 27 July and arrived in the Island on Sunday.

‘It is the first time we have visited Jersey and we are really excited about watching the Battle of Flowers,’ said Mr Müller. ‘We have heard all about the parade from other Bad Wurzach residents who have been to watch it in the past and have all told us how much they enjoyed it. We are looking forward to seeing it for ourselves.’
