A month to remember

00581686_cropped.jpg00581686_cropped.jpgROYAL Jersey player Dave Bushnell has clinched his first Royal victory and topped off a great run of results by being named the JEP/Itex Golfer of the Month.

Bushnell scored 42 points to win the Captain’s Prize at Grouville in July – the same month he scored 45 and a net 9 under par on the Old Course at St Andrews and a hole-in-one on Lundin Links Golf Course.

He said: ‘I’ve been playing at the Royal now for about 19 years and the Captain’s Prize is the first competition I’ve won there, so of course I’m very pleased to have been named golfer of the month.

‘I had some idea I was nominated but I didn’t expect to win. However this is the best month I think I have ever had, and I’ve dropped four shots on my handicap.
