CONDITIONS were far from perfect for the Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club’s annual Battle Week sand racing event at West Park beach on Saturday.
But there was still some great action for the spectators who watched from along the sea wall.
There was a busy starting grid for the cars, with the girls continuing to give a blistering performance. Leanne Pinel shows a maturity beyond her 16 years and Tracey Poole improves every outing, with her first season’s racing nearly complete.
Ian Pinel took the overall win in class one on the day, with daughter Leanne taking second. Second time out, newcomer Nicola Davey took third, adding to her tally of amazing drives, finishing every race and not allowing herself to be intimidated by the more experienced drivers on the course.
Young Jack Moullin stormed to victory in class two, with Mick and Oliver Eden continuing their family battles. Oliver took overall second place, with Mick third. Class 3 entrant Alan Moullin used his extra cc to good effect trying to beat his son.
