Scouts’ holiday ends on high note

00584035_cropped.jpgKIND-HEARTED Islanders have come to the rescue of a team of 28 Sea Scouts whose Jersey holiday was nearly ruined when they became the victims of a theft.
On Thursday the JEP reported how the 3rd Porchester Sea Scouts, aged between ten and 16, had had their bags ransacked in the AquaSplash changing rooms three days earlier.

Following the JEP report, Jack and Ruth Higgins donated £40, and they also baked lots of cakes for the boys.

Another Islander, a former Scout secretary, donated £50, while Jersey Tourism arranged for the group to go on the Jersey Eye for free.

The Merton Hotel also allowed the boys to use their swimming facilities yesterday, the last day of their holiday.
