A SENIOR police officer has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault on a female colleague on a boat.
The alleged incident is said to involve the police officer, his wife and the colleague.
The JEP has learned that the woman claims that she was ‘groomed’ by the police officer and his wife, who took her for a meal before heading to a boat in the harbour.
It is understood that the victim claims to have been seriously sexually assaulted by the senior police officer while on the boat, and fled in the early hours of the morning. The distraught woman, who is not a police officer, reported the incident and made a statement to officers last week.
