Brave Eden earns a standing ovation

0508073_cropped.jpgIT was an emotional standing ovation for Oliver Eden on Sunday at Sorel when he collected the Man of the Meeting award, just 12 hours after his father, Mick, had passed away.

Mick was a great follower of motocross and would have been extremely proud as his son also collected the Deans Yamaha Trophy for overall first place in the MX 1 class after winning all six of his races.

He did not have it all plain sailing as he was pushed all the way home by UK rider Phil Jackson who had to settle for six second places. It was a delighted Gareth Davies who took the other podium finish as he had five fifth places and a sixth.

Dennis Le Breton may have been the oldest rider on the course over the weekend, but he still knows a trick or two and ended up fourth overall in this group of 32 riders.
