New chapter for Market bookshop

0564569_2_cropped.jpgTHE Christian bookshop in the Market has been given a new look.

Christian Solutions is the new name for the renovated Christian Bookshop Mission Ltd, now managed by Julie Buesnel (pictured). ‘I have made some changes, changed the name, redecorated the outside of the shop and we’re having new flooring put down,’ she said.

To celebrate the opening of the new shop, a ‘rediscovery day’ has been organised for tomorrow, which will be attended by the Dean of Jersey, the Very Rev Bob Key, who will be cutting the ribbon. Among the other guests is the man who opened the original shop 37 years ago, Ron Brint. Mrs Buesnel is hoping for a good turnout for the event. She said that the shop was an Islandwide resource for all Christians and non-Christians alike.

‘I am so looking forward to our rediscovery day. We have wonderful support from the Dean and the Island’s churches and hope that many people will come along and support us on the day and in the future. ‘We need to remind people that if they order their books online, it may be convenient for them, but it takes the sale away from us, and we are more than a bookshop. We are the Church in the Market.’
