Conveyancing offer to aid Coastline Campaign

0592244_cropped.jpgA LAW firm has agreed to provide up to £30,000 of free conveyancing to the National Trust over three years for land gifted to them in their Coastline Campaign.

Mourant have made that commitment to ensure that the trust can acquire donations of land for its future protection without having to fund the transaction.

The Coastline Campaign, launched by the trust in 2006, is aimed at raising funds for the acquisition of coastline areas for long-term preservation and to provide improved public access to them.

Since then, the trust has been given a number of these areas by private landowners, some of which are adjacent to land they already own and manage. Trust chief executive Charles Alluto said that, until now, it had been the practice for the trust to cover their own conveyancing fees for such land transactions as well as the reasonable fees of the party making the donation.
