Business from the Jersey Evening Post

New directions on the bridal path

00591597_cropped.jpgBRIDAL Boutique has had a big impact on Jersey’s wedding industry since it opened its doors for business in August.

Accountant Michelle Pagarim (30) and personal assistant Sarah Marshall (34) channelled their love for weddings when they met through a mutual friend eight months ago to create their bridal boutique near the Weighbridge.

Dresses are priced from £200 to £3,500 in sizes 6 to 32. The boutique also sells shoes, garters, jewellery and bridesmaids’ dresses. The two women have kept their ‘day jobs’ but open the boutique from 2 pm until the evening, which suits many potential brides who work during the day.

The privacy of the boutique, which is tucked away at the side of the Jersey Museum in Ordnance Yard, once worried the women but has since become something of an asset to the business. ‘We thought no one would find us,’ said Mrs Marshall, ‘but in the event people have found the privacy appealing. We do late-night openings and we have that privacy as well as space and a top-notch service. We want brides to feel special and we get excited about their weddings.’
