RESTAURANTS in Jersey have joined an international campaign which aims to prevent starvation and malnutrition in some of the world’s poorest countries.
The Salty Dog, Ad-Lib, the Castle Green Gastropub and the Oyster Box are raising money for Action Against Hunger, a charity that implements nutrition programmes in 43 countries, including Lebanon, the Congo and Gaza.
The Jersey restaurants have joined 500 others in the UK to raise money for the charity’s Fight Hunger – Eat Out campaign. The aim is to raise £450,000 this year to mark the charity’s tenth birthday.
The Salty Dog is donating 30p for every Tennerfest menu sold this month to the charity and customers can leave donations in envelopes on their tables. This is the fifth year the Salty Dog has taken part in the campaign and last year raised £754. The Castle Green and the Oyster Box will make a donation to the charity at the end of the month.
