From Mike Truscott.
HAVING enjoyed more of the Tennerfest this year due to the extended running of the No 10 bus route, I e-mailed Deputy Guy de Faye to ask why this could not be extended throughout the winter.
I explained that the last bus departing from town was now at 6.45 pm, and some of us living in country parishes had little choice but to pay for a taxi (£20-plus to St Ouen’s parish hall) after an evening out.
Apparently I am the only Islander to have e-mailed him with my support for this route, but regrettably in these times of economic cuts (I did not think this applied to the States of Jersey) the scheme has run out of money.
Well, everyone has the chance to help resurrect this scheme by asking his or her Deputy candidate to support its reinstatement, hopefully in time for some Christmas late-night shopping. I would add that I have raised this matter with Deputy Reed, of St Ouen, who has promised his support. El Granero,
Rue de la Mare,
St Ouen.
Give us a late bus!
