ASHBURTON, Walkovers and Beeches all ran up scores in excess of 180 last night as they won their second-round JEP KO Cup cricket matches.

Division I Ashburton scored 191 for seven in their 104-run win against Division III newcomers Optimus Colts at FB2.

Ashburton had a brisk start with Richard Robinson and Jon Prince putting on 57 runs in the opening four overs with Robinson going on to top score with 63.

Nick Richardson – seven 4s and one 6 – top scored with 53 runs in Division I Walkovers’ 64-run win against Division III Centurion B at FB1. Ian Crocker supported with 33 helping Walkovers to 189 for seven in 15 overs.

Opener Hannes Botha was 67 not out in Division I champions Beeches’ 57-run win against Division III newcomers Aztec Springfield at LQ1. Sean Connoway assisted with 42 while McCafferty and Alex Cooke took three wickets apiece for Springfield.
