A LAST minute replacement has been found for the NatWest Island Games windsurfing team after Adam Chester was forced to withdraw.

Windsurfing team manager David Davies confirmed yesterday that Steve Melia will replace Chester, who has been forced to pull out for personal reasons.

Melia will now join Michael Millar, Chris Le Masurier, and Justin Horton in Aland with the team set to leave in just over one week.

Now with Melia’s addition Davies said that despite the late changes, the team remains a strong one that can challenge for medals and will hope to replicate the achievements of Ian Atkinson, Le Masurier, Melia, and Millar who returned from Rhodes 2007 with a silver medal.

He said: ‘The competition is always tough in the team event and it’s unlikely anyone will be able to catch Menorca as they have a team of professionals but we would aim to win the silver and I think we can do it as the team is very strong.’
