BECKIE Herbert featured as a substitute in England’s two test matches against Germany over the weekend.
England opened with a 3-2 victory in the first match in Russelheim, Germany, having to work hard to net the winner after the European champions clawed back a 2-0 deficit in the second half.
But it was Germany who took the second match 3-1 to tie the series and head coach Danny Kerry said: ‘In the first match I was pleased with the chances we created but disappointed with our conversion rate.
‘In the second game the Germans showed they are technically better than us under fatigues but I think it was a good battling performance from a young England side.’
England now look forward to the Champions Trophy in Sydney in just over two weeks’ time which features the top six ranked teams in world hockey including Argentina, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, and China.
